Preliminary Concrete and Rebar Takeoff Checklist
Before relying on preliminary quantities, verify that your units and geometry are consistent and that the scope matches the estimate.
- Confirm every length, width, depth, and diameter unit.
- Check element counts and whether dimensions overlap.
- Separate geometric volume from procurement allowances.
- Check whether openings or voids should be deducted.
- Confirm bar counts, nominal diameters, and straight lengths.
- Account separately for laps, bends, hooks, cutting loss, and waste.
- Recalculate representative rows independently.
- Obtain qualified review for final construction or safety-critical use.
This checklist supports early-stage estimating only and does not replace project documentation or applicable standards.
